Anyone have thoughts about the use of electronic claim filing and outsourcing, sometimes to data transcribers in other countries. Is this the wave of the future? Some carriers are allowing insureds to submit photo's of damaged property directly to their claims portal. Can we take this wave of the future and make it work for us as or will we be toast? Need some perspective. HELP!

As we lay the groundwork for our insurance business development in the new decade, our products and new markets will be linked to the global economy and the Internet. E-commerce won't be a novel way to do insurance business, it will simply be the way. As you do your strategic planning for your next five to ten year period, update your business plan to take advantage of the new opportunities technology provides. Wide band technology will redefine the word communication. How can you and your business benefit? What trends do forecasters in your industry see? Is your insurance business positioned to take advantage of those predictions?
